Board Leadership Nominations Invited

The Board Nominating Committee invites proven business leaders from the local business community to consider applying for the Chamber Board of Directors.

Chamber Board Directors are willing to engage with the Chamber on a deeper level; offering their time, talent and energy on a regular basis for an extended period of time (three - year term). Directors are Chamber advocates who understand their Board work is for the good of the organization and not their personal or business gain. Directors have the Chamber’s best interest at heart and their words and deeds reflect the spirit of their volunteerism.

A Board Director successfully demonstrates professional conduct, strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, patience, dependability, rapport building skills, and networking ability. Attractive candidates will have a good reputation, respect for confidentiality, leadership skills (in the community/workplace), and financial competence.

Other factors the Nominating Committee will consider when reviewing Board Director applications are: connectedness to the Greenwood/southside community geography; volunteerism in the community (Board experience/Experience working with groups); length of business experience/career tenure (expertise in his/her organization/industry), specialized training, business acumen, and more.

Interested persons, or recommendations from others, are strongly encouraged to contact president & CEO Christian Maslowski at (317) 888-4856 by December 1 for an initial exploration conversation and full details. Or contact member Tom Vander Luitgaren, nominating committee chair, at (317) 881-7575.
