Greater Greenwood is a golfer’s haven, with courses designed for every level of experience.

We don’t just take the game seriously on a local level. Nationally acclaimed golf architect Pete Dye designed the back nine at Dye’s Walk Country Club, a professionally designed course named for him. In fact, those were the first nine holes he ever designed!
The City of Greenwood’s Parks and Recreation Department offers 278 acres of parks, playgrounds, baseball diamonds, tennis courts and picnic areas.
Recreation highlights include:
- Four Paws Dog Park. Furry family members are especially welcomed here, one of the area’s only dog parks.
- 20 miles of trails, pathways and greenways. Runners, walkers and bikers can safely stroll along Greenwood’s most popular recreation amenities.
- Water parks. Your little ones will enjoy cooling off at the splash pad in City Center Park, and the entire family will enjoy the lazy river, zero-depth entry, and 40-foot slides at Freedom Springs aquatics center at Freedom Park.
- Youth sports programs. A first-class soccer complex in town hosts state and regional tournaments, and area children fuel a variety of youth sports programs.
Rainy days are never an issue, due to a variety of indoor activities available locally. Greenwood’s busy Community Center includes two basketball/volleyball courts, a fitness/weight center, running track, aerobics room, recreation room, meeting space and numerous fitness and activity classes.
